Michael Murtaugh has had a full life of experiences. Some of which no one would ever want to experience for themselves. In his early years, Michael was molested, given drugs, fed dog food and ultimately fell into addiction, homelessness, crime and jailed by 22. He fought addiction and personal issues for many years until 2010 - when he checked into Calvary Addiction Recovery Center which changed his life.
The road to his personal success has not been smooth but is now very rewarding. His professional career in high end resorts spans 32 years culminating in his current position as the Purchasing Director for the Four Seasons Resorts. His passion outside of work is assisting those who struggle with addiction. Since 2012 Michael has run a Recovery Ministry and delivered numerous presentations to a variety of audiences in high schools, businesses, men's groups, rehabilitation centers and others.
In 2017 Michael started the Annual Race for Recovery, which has raised over $90,675 with 100% of the proceeds helping addicts get into rehab and families in need of support. In last year's race, Michael swam from Alcatraz with his legs in shackles and ran in handcuffs seven miles to the Golden Gate Bridge and back to symbolically prove that the chains of addiction can be broken!
To date, Made4More Ministries has raised over $134,000 to help other organizations such as Calvary Healing Center, The Burnidge Soup Kitchen, Parents of Addicted Loved Ones, and R.A.F.T. (Recovering Adolescences and Friends Together).
Michael is married to his rock and best friend Stacey and the proud father of his son, Connor, his other purpose and best friend.
